My poem

This is a short poem that i wrote, hope you enjoy it.

Dreary Gray
by: Shannon wotton

I'm stuck in this day of dreary gray, with nothing to do and less to say.
I'm worse then Bord and border then worse, doing less then nothing, here I lay.
How I long for fun and adventures galore.
My mind often wonders and all my thoughts sore,
to a time people held onto life by a finger.
I want to be there but still here I linger.
For one quick second a look away and gone was my day of dreary gray!
I have to much to do and more to say,
as quick as it comes it all goes away.

That's what I have, what do you think?

It's cold outside!

This morning when i went to church it wasn't really that cold but, after it was really, really cold. To me anyways.
So now I'm excited for it to snow! It already snowed a couple times this year but, it melted in about a day. When I say snow I mean " bring out the shovels It's really coming down", type of a thing.Something about snow covering everything(especially the trees, i love how that looks!) fills me with a sense of wonder and gets me thinking about wonderful things.
Only 11 days until thanksgiving, 31 days until my big bro comes home from collage and 38 days until Christmas! clearly theres a lot to look forward to in the next few months.;0)

I have Latin class tomorrow and I'm going to have a test that i haven't even studied for, so it will be interesting to see how that turns out.;o) It just keeps raining, and raining, and raining! I fell like I'm trapped in a bubble with no way to escape! O well once again I'll survive. thanks for reading:o)

rain, rain go away!

The rain refuses to stop even when i ask it nicely! I feel like it will never cease it's horrible grip for more then a few hours.:o( Everything seems to be sleeping, waiting for the rain to stop so they can go about there life's as usual. The colorful leaves on the trees seem dull as if they were hypnotized. The trees are droopy and sad looking, like they were disappointed or something. every thing is muddy and wet, my animals are all inside the house or the barn, except the ducks. they certainly like the weather.:o)

"No pants for you!"

" Please mommy please!" I begged my mom in the fellowship hall at my church before youth group started. She was dropping us off for youth group and before she left I discovered a hole in my pants. "Please take me home to change and then bring me back", I asked. "No I'm not going all the way home , then bringing you back, and then coming to pick you up again." Frustrated I thought,we only life five minutes away! "Then bring me home with you and you don't have to bring me back." I desperately pleaded. "No". Now I was really ticked. "Why not!", "I don't want you to miss youth group,it's important." are my feelings not important, I wondered feeling very betrayed. I tried to sway her but to no avail.
All threw youth group I was self conscious, granted I had tied my sweatshirt around my waist I still felt embarrassed. Lucky for me we spent most of youth group sitting down or against the wall.
Now as I lay my favorite paints in the garbage to await to be brought to the dump something stuck me, I don't remember anything about the surmine. I was so consumed with myself and something people couldn't even see that I missed what was really important, what we go to youth group and church for. I missed hearing what God had to say to me. I think so many times were so consumed with ourselves and our appearance when we go the church we often miss what God has to say, we keep thinking about whats for lunch and what were going to do after church that we miss the whole point of going. that's just a little food for thought, thanks for reading.:o)

i guess not

I'm quite disappointed right now. we were supposed to go to the apple orchard today but, my mom decided not to because it's going to rain.:o( I guess I'll live but, I'm still Rather sad. oh well I'll go some time next and i will post pic.

Most of these have a lot of homewor too!! Well, my mom is beckoning me to make a cake of all things, wish me luck I'll need it! :0)

I am mommy here me roar!!!!!

(note: This is not in any way mocking my mother whom I love.)

As you know the more your around someone the easier it is to get on there nerves. As a homeschooled kid I'm with my mom quite a bit, and sometimes must face the wrath of the mother. These are some different level of anger and some ways to avoid them:

1.) irritation - Can usually be averted by an quick joke or changing the subject.

2.) distracted anger-When shes mad at someone else or something else just stay out of the way and be on your best behavior.

3.)direct anger - She's mad at you, but you can sometimes get away with a small punishment if you make light of the situation and apologize.

4.) intense direct anger - She is so mad! The more you argue the worse it gets so be as quiet as possible and plead your case with as much dignity as you're capable of. There's no getting out of this no matter when even if it wasn't your fault.
I hope that was enlightening, thanks for reading.

A) Yes, I have a desk in my room but, I do most of my school at the table
in the school room.

A) I guess you could say that, the phrase "You just wait till your father gets
home." is thrown around from time to time.

my older brother is now at Evangel University but, I'm still stuck with

nice to meet you

HI!
I'm Rural Mommas Ramblings daughter, and would like to introduce myself
as the writer of Memoirs of a Homeschool Kid. Although I'm 14 and more of a
teen then a kid, I didn't think of that until it was too late. :0) I'm
looking forward to blogging more but for now it's time for me to go,
thanks for reading.
